Dressing for a yacht charter in Dubai is about balancing comfort, heat, and the "barefoot rule".
The Barefoot Rule
Almost all yachts operate a strict "barefoot" policy to protect the teak decking from scuffs and stiletto marks. You will be asked to remove your shoes and leave them in a basket before stepping aboard. Don't worry about matching your shoes to your outfit—you won't be wearing them.
Daytime Charters
For daytime charters, swimwear, light cover-ups, linen shirts, and shorts are standard. The sun reflects off the water, intensifying the UV exposure, so a hat and polarized sunglasses are essential.
Evening and Corporate Charters
For sunset cruises or corporate events, "smart casual" is the norm. Flowing dresses, tailored shorts, and polo shirts work perfectly. Remember that it can get breezy on the water after dark between December and March, so bringing a light jacket or pashmina is a good idea.
